Blackbaud completes acquisition of Convio

Blackbaud has now completed its acquisition of Convio, first announced by UK Fundraising in January 2012.
President and CEO of Blackbaud Marc Chardon announced the completion, saying: “Convio’s strengths in online and social marketing, and subscription and cloud-based offerings complement ours, and will accelerate our ability to deliver more to the nonprofit sector.”
He added details of three initiatives to help the combined company better serve its clients. First, it will identify some quick wins e.g. better integration between The Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online. Secondly, it will avoid duplicate management amongst the teams, and thirdly it will develop its project road map to be available within 90 days.
The acquisition took several months to complete due to regulatory scrutiny by the U.S. Department of Justice.
