People’s Postcode Lottery opens new funding round for organisations in Wales

Howard Lake | 30 January 2012 | News

The People’s Postcode Trust is inviting applications from community groups, sports clubs and registered charities in Wales for its new round of funding.
The Trust, funded by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, has donated over £16 million for charities across Britain so far, and has funded over 50 projects across Wales to date. These include an outdoor gym for a local community group, a sustainable vegetable garden featuring an eco-greenhouse and the purchase of personal floatation devices for a rescue association.
Funding from £500 to £2,000 is available, and registered charities can apply for up to £5,000.
Scott Quinnell, ambassador for People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “No organisation is too big or too small, we have seen how just £500 can make the world of difference to an organisation. We hope to see lots of applications from all across the country”
Projects must last no longer than three months, and must be completed within six months of receiving the grant payment.
The deadline for all applications is 5pm on 24 February 2012.
