Using pre-launch page to engage your audiences

Using pre-launch page is a common practice for start-ups, but could we use it for our fundraising campaigns? Providing you have a good social media strategy in place (for your brand and/or for a particular campaign) you might want to use this model to engage with your target audiences and general public before the launch.
Here is a good example – Wishserver. Wishserver.org is a startup hoping to provide matching services for non-cash donations with the non-profits who need them. At the moment their landing page contains a welcome message, short description and plenty of options to share. They also encourage new subscribers to invite friends inscentivising them with earlier access to the site. Easy and smart!
You can even use free WordPress themes for pre-launch pages.
Building on-line audience for your campaign might take time, so why not start earlier? Let me know what you think!
