Twitter launching Twitter button, Facebook introducing Places

Howard Lake | 11 August 2010 | Blogs

There are two new options of those major social media tools that we are waiting for this week – Twitter Button and Facebook Places. I believe we have got used to the Facebook iLike button now, so the Twitter Button is easy to understand too, however with its option of showing stats of re-tweeted links on the site it becomes and interesting tool for measurement of our online activities. According to Mashable (where you can find more about the new Twitter functionality) this feature will be released tomorrow. Facebook in the meantime prepares for the launch of Foursquare competitor – Facebook Places. It’s aimed to be a geo-location service with features allowing check-ins, gaming and local tips (sounds familiar, doesn’t it?). We might see the launch today, but it is predicted to be in a form, which might need some improvements, so be patient with it!

I would love to hear your thoughts on those two new tools!
