Co-operative Pharmacy raises funds for UNICEF with handwash
The Co-operative Pharmacy is raising funds for UNICEF through sales of its antibacterial handwash. For each sale of the 250ml marked hand wash, The Co-operative Pharmacy will donate 15p to UNICEF
The handwash went on sale in more than 600 participating stores of The Co-operative Pharmacy from 3 February and is priced at 80p.
The UK’s third largest retail pharmacy is continuing its work with the leading children’s organisation as part of a three year initiative to champion sanitation in Togo, West Africa. Money donated from the marked packs will go towards a community development project to help develop sanitation in the country.
John Nuttall, Managing Director of The Co-operative Pharmacy, said: “The money donated will help to support an existing community development project that The Co-operative Pharmacy has already donated £400,000 towards. This aims to provide 7,800 latrines, reaching 195,000 people in 390 villages.”
