X Factor's Olly Murs to become patron of Brainwave

Howard Lake | 4 January 2011 | News

Singer Olly Murs, the runner-up in X Factor in 2009, is giving his support to children’s charity Brainwave by becoming a patron. He decided to get involved after visiting Brainwave’s centre in Witham, Essex and met some of the families and their children with conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Downs, Autism and Developmental Delay.
Murs said: “It was great to meet some of the children on the Brainwave programme as I got to see for myself how the hard work, determination and effort that’s put in can literally change their lives. I was very touched when I came down to visit the centre in Essex, and am delighted to become a Patron of Brainwave. I am looking forward to working alongside them and helping raise awareness of this fantastic charity.”
