Howard Lake | 4 November 2010 | News

Some of the UK’s major donors will be speaking at Raising Funds from the Rich next month in London. The annual conference, organised by Action Planning, will be attended by around 2,000 delegates.
The event gives charity chief executives, trustees, directors and fundraisers, and wealthy individuals an opportunity to hear directly from some of Britain’s major donors, together with leading experts on major donor fundraising and philanthropy from the UK and USA.
Donors speaking at the event include Arpad (Arki) Busson, founder of ARK and one of the Sunday Times Rich List top five givers; Lady Helen Hamlyn, philanthropist and widow of publisher Lord Paul Hamlyn; Richard Harvey, who gave up a top job in insurance (CEO of Aviva plc) to volunteer in Africa; and Andrew Wates, whose family are leading UK donors to community and faith-based causes.
Wealth experts presenting include Sean Stannard-Stockton, Chief Executive of California-based Tactical Philanthropy, who will speak on demonstrating outcomes to the wealthy; and Matthew Bishop, USA Business Editor of the Economist, and author of Philanthrocapitalism, who will speak on how UK charities can partner global philanthropists and governments to achieve change.
Other speakers include Emma Turner, Head of Client Philanthropy at Barclays Wealth; James Lawson, Director of Ledbury Research; and Sunday Times Rich List Editor, Ian Coxon.
Action Planning is presenting the event with The Sunday Times, and in partnership with ACEVO, CFDG, CAF, Big Lottery Fund, Barclays Wealth, Blackbaud and Spear’s Wealth Management.
Tickets cost £147 including VAT.
