Welcome Cottages raise £200,000 for Dogs Trust

Howard Lake | 1 October 2010 | News

Dog welfare charity Dogs Trust has received a donation of £200,000 generated from bookings via travel affiliate Welcome Cottages, which offers pet-friendly holidays.
This is the seventh year of the partnership, which includes targeted direct marketing campaigns to Dogs Trust supporters, including bespoke co-branded brochures, direct mail and online activity.
Pets stay for free at Welcome Cottages, part of recently re-branded The Hoseasons Group, and 10 per cent of every cottage rental booked through the white-label site www.dogstrust-cottages.co.uk is donated to the charity. Bookings have increased year on year with 2010 sales already up 26% on 2009.
Kathryn Preston, key account manager at Welcome Cottages said: “We’re delighted to be able to reach this milestone, especially ahead of forecasted results for the year. We credit our success to the great partnership we have with the team at Dogs Trust, working closely to ensure our creative and messaging complements the existing collateral and appeals to the charity’s loyal database of 700,000 supporters”.
Welcome Cottages have similar partnerships with over 500 organisations in various sectors.
