Boston College’s Centre for Irish Programmes in the USA is offering 14 places on a week-long study visit to the United States on the topic of ‘Philanthropy and Community Development.’
The all expenses paid study trip will take place at Boston College and Phoenix, Arizona in January 2011 and is open to individuals in Ireland who are decision-makers in grantmaking bodies, micro-financing organisations, community development bodies and relevant government bodies from Ireland, north and south.
Study visits will examine private philanthropy, endowment management, board membership and emerging areas of under-funding.
The programme is funded by the Centre for Irish Programmes and the US State Department and costs such as travel, tuition and the majority of meals are covered.
First interviews will take place on 19 October in Belfast and 20 October in Dublin.
The deadline for applications is 8 October 2010.
