Santander invites applications to be its next charity of the year
International bank Santander is inviting national UK charities to apply to become its fourth charity of the year for 2011.
With over 1,300 branches across the UK, Santander raised over £200,000 for its charity of the year Help the Hospices in 2009 and is well on its way to reaching the £250,000 target for Cancer Research UK.
Santander is looking for a specific project to fund run by a national UK charity “which resonates with staff and customers”. In the past, Santander has provided a playroom, a three-year arts programme and a helpline.
Sheralee Morris, Community Relations Manager at Santander said: “With three consecutive years of brilliant volunteering and fundraising initiatives, we are seeing more support than ever from Santander staff and are keen to extend this commitment to another worthy cause in 2011. Santander employs over 25,000 employees across the UK so there is real scope to exceed all targets and make this our most successful partnership to date.”
