Atlantic makes new round of grants in Northern Ireland
Atlantic Philanthropies has announced a number of significant grants in Northern Ireland.
Under its Children and Youth programme the Parents Advice Centre in Belfast has been awarded a grant of £1,141,047 over two years for an Advocacy and Parenting Teens Programme. The money will be used to provide support for PAC’s advocacy work by an increase in lobbying and campaigning and an education programme designed to increase parent awareness.
Under the Reconciliation and Human Rights programme a second phase grant of £1,001,300 over three years has been awarded to Suffolk Lenadoon Interface Group to support peace building between Suffolk and Lenadoon communities.
NEA Northern Ireland has received a three year grant of £ 411,000 for its ‘Warm, Healthy and Happy Campaign’. Given under the Ageing programme the grant will support a three-year advocacy campaign to ensure that the eradication of fuel poverty is a priority of government departments, political parties, and national and regional agencies in Northern Ireland.
Atlantic make grants through our Ageing, Children & Youth, Population Health and Reconciliation & Human Rights Programmes. Atlantic also makes Founding Chairman grants. It is also active in Australia, Bermuda, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United States and Viet Nam. The foundation made more than $5 billion in grants as of the end of 2009.
