New Acting Chief Executive at Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK has today announced the appointment of Benet Middleton as Acting Chief Executive, following the impending departure of current CEO Paul Streets.

Middleton will take up the post on 1 September 2003 for a period of 12 months during which time recruitment for a permanent CEO will take place. Middleton has been at Diabetes UK since 1999 serving as Director of Policy and Communications.

Middleton said: “I will continue to drive through the process of change our Board has put in place. This will equip us to respond to the development of the diabetes service frameworks in each of the four nations of the UK.”

Paul Streets is moving to a new job as Chief Executive of the Health Development Agency and will be leaving Diabetes UK at the end of September.
