Free Edinburgh Festival Fireworks tickets for community groups

Howard Lake | 20 July 2009 | News

Community groups are being given free tickets to view The Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert, the grand finale to the Edinburgh International Festival in September.

Bank of Scotland is donating 2,000 tickets for Princes Street Gardens, one of the best and closest vantage points, to groups working within our communities. They will get to enjoy the Scottish Chamber Orchestra performing the music for Europe’s largest choreographed fireworks display, against the striking backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

Applications can only be accepted from individuals applying on behalf of eligible groups. Each successful group in the ballot will receive up to 30 free tickets.

Archie Kane, Group Executive Director, Lloyds Banking Group Scotland said: “This year we have embarked upon a new piece of activity to widen the reach of the concert and give community groups from across the country the opportunity to attend the event through our Community Ticket Giveaway…

“We are delighted that so many groups who may not have had the opportunity to witness this spectacle before will be able to experience the stunning fireworks choreography and breath taking classical music that is the grand finale to the Edinburgh Festival.”

Nominations must be made by 3 August 2009. Only one application per community group will be accepted.
