Nominations open for Arts & Business Scotland Awards 2009

Arts & Business Scotland has opened nominations for the annual Arts & Business Scotland Awards which celebrate creativity and excellence in partnerships between businesses and arts organisations.
There are eight awards on offer:
* A&B Scotland Community Award
* A&B Scotland Cultural Branding Award
* A&B Scotland Sustainability Award
* A&B Scotland Young People Award
* A&B Scotland Small Business Sponsor
* A&B Scotland New or Returning Sponsor
* A&B Scotland Business Volunteer of the Year Award
* A&B Scotland Leadership Award
Entries are welcomed from any business and arts partnership or sponsorship that has taken place between 1 March 2008 and 1 April 2009.
An independent panel chaired by Douglas Smith, Chairman Scotland, CB Richard Ellis Ltd will judge nominations based on the quality of the relationship established between the business and the arts partners, whether cash or in-kind. The judges will also take into account the innovative nature in achieving the commercial goals of the business and the artistic goals of the arts partner.
The deadline for nominations is midday on 6 May 2009.
Barclay Price, Director, Arts & Business Scotland said: “Small sponsorships are as important as larger amounts, and we encourage all arts organisations and museums to nominate the businesses that have supported them over the last year.”
