Barry Gower offers expanded training course on Gift Aid

Howard Lake | 10 June 2009 | News

Barry Gower, MD of Gift Aid recovery specialists GAIN, is to run an expanded full-day training course on Gift Aid next month in London.

Run in association with UK Fundraising, the course is being run following a successful half-day course on the subject last month.

The course, ‘Effective and Innovative Gift Aid’, will feature practical advice on maximising Gift Aid income. Gower will guide delegates through the fundamentals of the Gift Aid scheme, including the declaration and processing, to help ensure they are adhering to best practice.

He will also present advice on extending Gift Aid to other areas of fundraising which may not normally be thought of as qualifying for Gift Aid, including raffles, memberships, and auctions.

New for this course is the option for delegates to submit beforehand some information on their own Gift Aid Rate of Recovery (GARR). Gower will analyse this and comment and advise on it during the course. Delegates do of course have the option of submitting the material anonymously so that the charity’s name is not mentioned in the course.

The course takes place on 13 July 2009 at Shelter’s training facility at 250 City Road, near Old Street in London.

The fee for the one-day course is £85 + VAT for charities and voluntary organisations, or £250 + VAT for commercial/for-profit organisations.
