e-Learning Foundation offers awards for home-learning childrens' projects

The e-Learning Foundation, the charity that works to erase the digital divide in the UK, has announced the inaugural e-LF Home Access Awards 2009.

The e-LF Home Access Awards are open to all schools across the country which have instigated successful e-learning projects to provide children with home access to technology for their studies. There will also be an award for the most innovative Local Authority and the most supportive supplier, as well as an individual award for the most outstanding personal contribution.

Valerie Thompson, Chief Executive of the e-Learning Foundation, said: “Access to technology at home has been proven to significantly influence educational outcomes, yet there are still hundreds of thousands of children in the UK without home access to a PC and the internet for their studies.

The entry form for the e-Lf Home Access Awards will be available shortly. Entries must be received by 9 October 2009.
