Actor Stephen Mangan has launched Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
The Adrian Mole and Green Wing actor will be the face and voice of the month-long campaign that aims to raise £5 million to support the work of Marie Curie Nurses.
His mother died from bowel cancer aged 45 and was looked after by Marie Curie Nurses at home. His father died from a brain tumour at home also with Marie Curie Nurses at his side.
Mangan said: “I’m proud to be supporting the appeal in any way I can and will be wearing my daffodil not only in memory of mum and dad but to support the thousands of Marie Curie Nurses going out to homes across the UK every day.”
The Great Daffodil Appeal takes place every March and encourages people to make a donation in return for a daffodil pin.
