The REaD Group announces inaugural Charity Data Bursary recipient

Howard Lake | 8 August 2008 | News

The REaD Group (TRG) is pleased to announce that Breast Cancer Care has been selected as the Group’s inaugural £25,000 Charity Data Bursary recipient.
With suppression ‘best practice’ for charities currently such a hot industry topic, The REaD Group Charity Data Bursary will apply TRG’s Gone Away Suppression File (GAS), Xpression and The Bereavement Register together with MPS and PAF-checking filters to Breast Cancer Care’s extensive UK database – thus eliminating out-of-date data, increasing ROI and decreasing adverse environmental impacts for the charity’s forthcoming donor campaigns.
‘The response to our Charity Bursary was fantastic,’ said The REaD Group’s CEO, Mark Roy, in making today’s announcement. ‘Both the high number and calibre of submissions made choosing the inaugural recipient no easy task. So congratulations to Breast Cancer Care for putting forward such a compelling case for how our data management expertise and products could enhance their donor retention and recruitment capabilities.’
Howard Lake, UK Fundraising’s publisher and fellow Bursary judge, concurs: ‘Breast Cancer Care’s vision for how they could use The REaD Group’s products and services and the long-term impact they expect this will yield for them is exciting. UK Fundraising looks forward to reporting on how this new data management partnership develops over the next twelve months.’
‘We’re delighted to have been selected for the inaugural Bursary,’ commented Samia al Qadhi, Breast Cancer Care’s CEO. ‘The welfare and trust of people affected by breast cancer is central to our work providing support and information, so it’s critical we build our new direct marketing programme on excellent foundations. The Bursary is a really valuable contribution to our plans and we warmly thank The REaD Group and UK Fundraising for selecting our application.’
The REaD Group looks forward to working with Breast Cancer Care’s marketing and supporter services staff over coming months to assist with what is an incredibly worthwhile and important cause.
