Triodos launches Social Venture Capital Fund

Howard Lake | 25 July 2008 | News

Triodos Bank, a long-time supporter of social enterprise within the third sector, has launched a new Opportunities Fund. Investments of between £200,000 and £750,000 will be made in social enterprises within the UK that have a proven business model but need money to scale up activities or grow their business. The emphasis is on supporting long-term development and as well as money the scheme will provide networking and other development support.
The Opportunities Fund has already raised over £3 million and this first application round will make use of that cash. Amongst the institutional supporters of the Fund are the Tudor Trust and the Waterloo Foundation.
Potential applicants should first discuss their ideas with Whitni Thomas at the Triodos Bank on 020 7138 3209 or by e-mailing wh***********@tr*****.uk
Closing date: Call Triodos for details as applications are processed as received.
