Sailors' Society Three Peaks Challenge raises £600,000

Worldwide seafarers’ charity the Sailors’ Society has raised £608,000 from their recent Three Peaks Challenge event.
Over 40 teams took part in the Southampton-based charity’s bi-annual event and experienced dreadful weather conditions climbing climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Helvellyn in the Lake District and Snowdon in Wales within 24 hours.
The overall winner awarded on a combination of funds raised and time taken was ‘Team Force Majeur’, from Bunge SA, closely followed by Morgan Stanley representatives ‘Northern Rocks’.
Cargill Ocean Transportation Singapore and Cargill Ocean Transportation USA both raised a £61,000 each.
