2008 Alcan Prize for Sustainability open for entries

Entries are now open for the $1 million 2008 Alcan Prize for Sustainability. The prize recognises organisations that are demonstrating a comprehensive approach to addressing, achieving and further advancing economic, environmental and/or social sustainability.
As well as the top prize the nine shortlisted organisations will receive grants valued at $15,000 to invest in certifiable training and capacity building.
The 2007 prize was awarded to the India-based Utthan Centre for Sustainable Development and Poverty Alleviation.
The closing date for entries is 12 September 2008.
