Staff and members at The Co-operative have raised over £2.3 million in nine months for The Children’s Society, the most the charity has received from a charity partnership. The Co-operative’s original target was to raise £1 million.
The money will be donated to The Children’s Society and its partner charities Aberlour in Scotland, Tros Gynnal in Wales and Extern in Northern Ireland.
Guy McCracken, Chief Executive, Food, The Co-operative Group, said: “The Co-operative’s colleagues and members have all had great fun raising the money. This is an amazing achievement and we’re really proud to be supporting childhood in the UK.”
