Heritage funding in Northern Ireland to fall again

Howard Lake | 18 April 2008 | News

The budget for the Heritage Lottery Fund in Northern Ireland will be reduced from £3.6 million this year to £2.4 million next year. Last year HLF provided grants of £4 million in Northern Ireland.
HLF also say that there will be no significant changes in the grant strategy but that the grants application process will be simplified.
The General Programmes will remain Awards for All and Your Heritage. The Specialist Programmes are Young Roots, Grants for People, Repair Grants for Places of Worship, Landscape Partnerships and Townscape Heritage Initiative.
The grants range from £5,000 at the lower end up to £5 million but given the total budget big grants will be less common than in the past.
