Bighearted Scotland Awards seek nominations
Bighearted Scotland, a consortium of seven Scottish charities, is seeking nominations for the seventh annual Bighearted Scotland Awards. These aim to honour the unsung heroes throughout Scotland who commit their time for others.
The top award is the Bighearted Scot of the Year, awarded to a person living in Scotland who has made a significant difference to the lives of others through fundraising, volunteer work or by making a significant contribution to their local community.
The other categories are Child of the Year, Carer of the Year, Fundraiser of the Year, Sports Person of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.
The awards will be presented by First Minister Alex Salmond MSP at an Awards Dinner on September 5th in the Glasgow Marriott.
Nominations close at 12 noon on 30 July 2008.
