Howard Lake | 6 March 2008 | News

Hilton hotel guests have helped to raise £129,746 with their small change in the hotel chain’s ‘Small Change Big Difference’ campaign.
From October 2007 to January 2008, Hilton guests were invited to add £1 onto their room bill to be donated to the campaign’s charity, Children with Leukaemia.
Since its launch in 2004, this campaign has raised nearly £700,000 so far. Previous beneficiaries have been Barnardo’s and Teenage Cancer Trust, which each received £100,000 in 2004, ChildLine which received £168,848 in 2005 and the Association of Children’s Hospices which received £195,830 in 2006, to be distributed equally between each of the UK’s 39 registered children’s hospice services.
In Ireland, the campaign has run since 2005, with €5,000 being raised for the ISPCC’s Childline service, and in 2006 €9,202 was raised for The Children’s Sunshine Home in Dublin. In 2007, €8,619 has been raised and will help Irish Autism Action to establish a helpline, to build on its network of support and activities for children with autism and their siblings, parents and carers.
