25th No Smoking Day includes fundraising challenge

The 25th annual No Smoking Day on 12 March is including a fundraising campaign, The Great No Smoking Day Challenge, to encourage those giving up to raise funds for charity while they do.

The campaign is the first since smokefree legislation was extended across the whole of the UK. It invites smokers to commit to a smokefree week. They then receive free quit packs, text messages and emails to help them continue.

Participants are encouraged to seek sponsorship to support a charity of their choice, either via a dedicated Justgiving web page or using the challenge sponsorship form.

The charity has developed a Facebook group and MySpace page to support the campaign.
