Romanian ballerina Alina Cojocaru, principal of the Royal Ballet, is to help raise money for terminally ill children and adults in her homeland when she dances in May.

She has offered to perform at a gala evening to raise funds for the UK charity Hospices of Hope which provides care for terminally ill people in Romania.

Alina will be joined by fellow Royal Ballet principal dancer Johan Kobborg for the gala on 7 May at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. The programme includes Tim Rushton’s celebrated choreography of L’apres-midi d’un faune, popular classical highlights and world premier of a piece by Kim Brandstrup.
