Closing date nears for new award for African Caribbean groups

The closing date for applications to the first £10,000 Creme of Nature Community Grant Award scheme is 31 January 2008.
Funded by the Colomer Group and supported by Colures magazine and Voice of Africa Radio 94.3FM, the Award has been created “to recognise and support community cohesion and social inclusion within the African Caribbean community”.
It is open to African Caribbean not-for-profit community and voluntary organisations, and faith groups, with an annual turnover of less than £50,000, that provide services and support for women.
Judging will take place between 20-27 February 2008. The winner will be announced in March.
Ellen Thomas, who played Liz Webbe in the Channel 4 series ‘Teachers’, will be a celebrity judge for the award.
