The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales made grants of £9.14 million to over 600 charities in its final funding round of 2007. This included £2.56 million to 36 collaborative projects.
For 2008 the Foundation is increasing its geographical presence by expanding its locally based grant management team from ten to 16, enabling more interaction with the charities to develop greater understanding of their needs.
Linda Kelly, chief executive for the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales said: “Our focus in 2008 will be to offer small and medium charities working with disadvantaged groups a range of funding programmes which respond to unmet local need with emphasis on funding core costs and identifying emerging issues and trends.
“We have responded to the needs of our core beneficiaries by increasing our geographical presence at a local level. The aim is that each manager will be able to work more closely at grassroots enabling them to spot emerging issues affecting the disadvantaged communities we support.”
