Scottish radio stations and Tesco join to raise funds for children

Howard Lake | 19 November 2007 | News

Presenters from Radios Forth, Tay, Moray Firth, South West Sound and Northsound have launched the Every Penny Counts campaign to raise funds for underprivileged children in each of the radio stations’ areas. Seventy one Tesco stores in Scotland are also participating in the four-week campaign.

The DJ’s will be asking listeners and customers in their area to raise funds in any way they can.

Dawn Gibson, Marketing and Communications Director for Emap Radio Charities, said: “The main aim here is for us to raise as much money as possible for sick and underprivileged children in each local area. It is important to note that all money raised locally will stay locally. A little bit of rivalry between the stations to see who can raise the most money will only benefit the charities at the end of the day!”
