NSPCC extends Facebook application
The NSPCC and digital agency Panlogic have developed the charity’s Facebook application to help drive more actions by supporters and users. The charity was the first in the UK to launch an advanced fundraising application on the social network.
The charity said that the new version of the “app” is designed to build brand engagement and drive actions, while enhancing a community around the common interest of preventing cruelty to children. Most recently it has been extended to incorporate the Be the FULL STOP campaign through the addition of ‘NSPCC Deeds’. Making use of Facebook’s viral infrastructure, users can now commit to perform a deed and challenge their friends to do the same deed or others.
This week users were also able to engage in ‘conversations’ about deeds, events or anything else through a new Wall tab. Social aspects such as voting, feedback and comments functions are also being employed to engage users further. The application also supports video content to further develop its calls to action.

As of 12 November, 11,588 users had installed the application, and £2,765 haf been donated since launch in September. Daily there is an average of 3% of active users, and over the previous week 750 users have been active on the application.

By giving the users quick and easy ways to make a big difference to children everywhere, we hope our latest offering will encourage users to engage even further with our cause.”
