The Big Quit encourages smokers to fundraise while they quit

Howard Lake | 20 September 2007 | News

The NHS Smokefree campaign is partnering with local commercial radio in a nationwide campaign to encourage people to stop smoking for good with the support of the NHS. Smokers are being encouraged to raise funds for charity via Justgiving as they quit.

Smokers making a quit attempt can choose any of the 2,000 charities listed on Justgiving’s website, and then encourage their friends and family to sponsor them online as they attempt to beat their habit for good.

The Big Quit campaign launches on 24 September and will run for three weeks across all local commercial radio stations throughout England.
