Liverpool City Council invites bids for £4 million in grants

Howard Lake | 8 September 2007 | News

Liverpool City Council is offering up to £4.2 million in grants to voluntary and community groups working in the areas of community legal advice services, support for victims of domestic violence, non-housing support for single homeless people, stronger communities, and strengthening community and voluntary organisations.

The Voluntary and Community Groups scheme is a three year fund, which runs from April 2008 to April 2011, and it will see up to £4.2 million given each year. Around 80 organisations have received money under the existing three year scheme, which was launched in 2005.

Liverpool City Council gives a total of £7.6 million each year to voluntary, cultural and educational organisations, which the council believes is one of the largest grant programmes of any local authority in the UK.
