Two more posts on Bryan Miller's blog

Bryan Miller has posted two new items on his newly-launched blog on UK Fundraising, covering this month’s successful Relay for Life in Second Life, and a new idea for online legacy fundraisers. Meanwhile, Ian MacQuillan’s post on IntelligentGiving.com has attracted some active debate.

Bryan Miller reports that the Second Life Relay for Life event held last weekend looks set to raise over $100,000, more than double that achieved last year.

He has followed that post with discussion of the YouDeparted.com website which he thinks might stimulate some ideas for legacy fundraisers looking to offer a practical service to pledgers. He concludes by asking: “might the integration of a personal organiser with a death benefit into the legacy fundraisers product range be a viable idea for the future?”

Bryan’s posts are already generating some good conversations on the blog, and on his Facebook page where he has posted links to his blog posts.

Meanwhile, Ian MacQuillin’s suggestion on his blog that Intelligent Giving needs to raise its own standards has generated some good discussion about the role and credence that should be attached to new and independent commentators and analysts of the voluntary sector. Ten comments have already been added to this post.
