Next round of NIB grants announced

The next round of the National Irish Bank 2007 Community Grants programme has been announced. NIB will offer ‚€50,000 during 2007 to initiatives and projects that benefit communities throughout the Irish Republic.

The Community Grants programme aims to benefit as many people as possible and primarily to promote participation in local Sport, Culture and Knowledge. NIB will give ‚€10,000 in each of its five regions to voluntary projects and organisations. Funding will be made available during the coming summer months but deadline for applications is 30th April.

The National Irish Bank Community Grants Programme was launched for the first time in September 2006, with 27 organisations around the country each receiving grants of between ‚€1,000 and ‚€4,000.

Applications are open to charitable, not-for-profit, voluntary and community organisations involved in one of three areas; Knowledge, Culture and Sport. Organisations may apply for a grant of ‚€500 to ‚€5,000. If you have a project that National Irish Bank could support, just pick up an application form at a local branch or download one at www.nationalirishbank.ie/AboutCommunityInvolvement

Applicants or organisations do not need to be customers of the National Irish Bank to apply.
