New website for prospect and fundraising researchers

Howard Lake | 19 March 2007 | News

Prospect researcher Matthew Iredale has set up a website for prospect and fundraising researchers with the aim of providing advice, information and support for those who carry out research in fundraising departments in the UK.

The site, which is free to access, is aimed primarily at those who wish to carry out prospect research into wealthy individuals, but it also includes information that is relevant to research into trusts and companies.

Iredale, who is Fundraising Research Manager at The Stroke Association, said: “It is intended to be especially useful for those new to research, but I hope that there are parts of it that will be of interest to more established researchers as well.”

Sections of the website offer advice on setting up a research department, finding your beneficiaries, uncovering your contacts, and The City of London. There is also a welcoming “Help, it’s my first day!” section.

There is also a nascent blog on UK prospect research, an early post on which suggests that feedback on the new site from the UK prospect research community has been positive.
