New survey on UK prospect research

Prospect research specialists Prospecting for Gold (PFG) have launched their first annual survey on prospect research in the UK charity sector.

Andrew Thomas, Chair of PFG, explains that “there has never been a thorough survey which asked the tough questions about where research sits within a charity’s fundraising department and what role it is playing. Is it becoming more important or less important, and is research being taken seriously enough?”

The survey aims to answer these questions and “generate some strong opinions.” The survey results will be published in a series of articles and responders will receive their own summary report. Everyone who completes the questionnaire will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two free database screenings.

Prospecting for Gold hope the survey will become a regular event and provide an important benchmark guide for the development of research in fundraising.

The survey can be completed online.
