EventScotland donates £17,000 to British Transplant Games

Scotland’s national events organisation EventScotland is to give £17,000 to the 2007 British Transplant Games as which take place in Edinburgh in July.

The 2007 British Transplant Games are returning to Scotland for the first time since 1984. By demonstrating the benefits of successful organ transplantation, the Games strive to encourage people to sign the organ donor register and help save the lives of the 6,000 people in the UK currently on the transplant waiting list.

David Williams, Chief Executive of EventScotland, said: “One of EventScotland’s aims is to showcase Scotland as the perfect stage for major sporting events and the British Transplant Games offers us a truly unique opportunity. Our support for the marketing and promotion of the event is sure to help attract visitors to Scotland from other parts of the UK.”
