Passion for the Planet offers free radio advertising for charities

Digital radio station Passion for the Planet is matching every advertising campaign sold until 31 March 2008 and donating it to charity. The commercial advertiser can nominate the registered charity they wish to support or they can let Passion choose.
Golden Embroidery was the first company to sign up and their matched three month campaign has been donated to bibic, the charity that supports brain injured children.
John Bennett, Chief Executive of bibic, said: “Charities are always looking at ways to raise funds. We know radio advertising works, but its usually way out of our budget, so this is a fantastic gift from Golden Embroidery and Passion for the Planet. In many ways its more valuable than the equivalent amount in cash.”
The advertising can be taken any time until 31 Dec 2008 and Passion will arrange production of the commercial as well.
Passion’s managing director Chantal Cooke said: “From the very beginning, when we launched in 2002, we wanted to make giving to charity a big part of our business, and we always envisaged that that would take the form of airtime as that can be such a valuable resource for a charity and hopefully enables them to raise both cash and awareness.”
Passion is one of a very small number of independently owned DAB radio stations in the country. It focuses on health, the environment and alternative solutions.
