The Dutch Postcode Lottery has awarded WaterAid, in partnership with Dutch charity Simavi, over ‚€1 million from its 2006 Lottery revenues for the provision of safe drinking water, adequate sanitation and hygiene promotion in Uganda and Tanzania.

Nick Edmans, Head of Communications at WaterAid, said: “The support of the Dutch Postcode Lottery for this project will improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable children and their families both in the short and the long term.

“The close cooperation between WaterAid and Simavi in first securing this bid and now delivering on the ground is a fine example of cross-European cooperation making a real difference for some of the most disadvantaged communities in the world.”
