New programme of tax-effective giving courses across England

Howard Lake | 23 May 2006 | News

The Institute of Fundraising is to run a programme of tax-effective giving training workshops for charities across England from 2006-2007.

The workshops are designed to help charities in England maximise their income by making the most of the tax-effective giving methods that are currently available, namely through Gift Aid, Share Giving, Payroll Giving and Legacies.

Workshops cost £40 inclusive of lunch refreshments and all course materials, and will take place in 25 locations across England.

The workshops are part of the Institute’s wider tax-effective giving programme offering support services to charities across England, which is funded by the Home Office.

Lee Grant, Tax-Effective Giving Project Manager at the Institute of Fundraising, says: Charities are missing out on millions because they are not making the most of the many tax-effective fundraising techniques that are available. These workshops, and the ongoing support, will give charities the confidence they need to take advantage of the tax breaks available to them and increase their income as a direct result.

The courses run from May 2006 to March 2007.
