DSC to run regional tax-effective giving training courses

The Directory of Social Change (‘DSC’) will introduce a regional tax-effective giving training programme, aiming to continue and further develop the Giving Campaign’s training programme first launched in 2001.

From August 2004 the DSC will be extending tax-effective giving training out to four regions: London, Bristol, Glasgow and the East Midlands, from Autumn 2004.

Over the past three years, the Giving Campaign has offered a tax-effective giving training programme for charities.

Meena Varma, Deputy Chief Executive at the Directory of Social Change,
said: “I’m delighted that we are in a position to be able to continue and further
develop the work The Giving Campaign has been doing in training charities to
make better use of the tax-effective giving schemes. We hope to be able to extend the Campaign’s good work by rolling our training programme out on a regional basis, getting out to some of those areas where smaller, local charities are operating – many of whom still don’t know how Gift Aid works.”
