Supermarket Sainsbury’s is running its Active Kids campaign with shoppers passing on vouchers to their local school to exchange for sports equipment.

Last year’s Active Kids campaign generated £17 million worth of sports equipment for nearly 24,000 schools. It aimed to inspire pupils and teachers to become more active.

This year’s campaign will offer more items for schools including team kits, dance workshops and over 50 new activity items.

The vouchers can be exchanged by schools from nurseries through to senior school and special needs groups.

One voucher is earned for every £10 spent at Sainsbury’s.

Schools need to register, for which there is no charge, before they can benefit from the scheme.
