Café Rouge, the French café chain, has chosen The British Red Cross as its benefiting charity for 2006.

The chain will make a donation to the charity for every Moules du Café Rouge it sells. The classic dish of mussels served with French fries, is one of its most popular dishes.

The scheme will run throughout 2006 in all of Café Rouge’s 82 restaurants. Further staff and customer fundraising events will be planned throughout the year, with the aim of raising a total of £50,000 for the British Red Cross.
