British Heart Foundation launches £1 million 2006 Valentine appeal

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is aiming to raise £1 million to fund 30 new BHF Heart Nurses by asking people to “give a gift that saves lives” this Valentine’s Day.

There are many novel and innovative ways to support the Appeal.

A new matchmaking event Flirt Walk is being launched for un-attached individuals by the BHF in association with PARSHIP.co.uk. This 5km walk is taking place on Sunday 12 February in London’s Hyde Park. The challenge for participants will be to find their perfect Valentine’s date. To download an application pack and find out more about the event, visit bhf.org.uk/valentine

Members of the public can also purchase and post a Love Note in the window of their local BHF Shop. Love Notes will be available in all BHF Shops across the UK from the middle of January for a suggested donation of £1. Local BHF Shops can be found by visiting bhf.org.uk/shops
