Further responses sought to electronic fundraising code
The Institute of Fundraising is seeking further responses to its new draft electronic fundraising code of practice, following a very poor level of interest to date.
The Institute of Fundraising released its revised Code of Practice on ‘Fundraising through Electronic Media’ (formerly ‘Internet Fundraising’) for comment from fundraisers and interested parties on 27 July 2005. The number of responses to date so far has been very small.
The draft code was put together, with support from the Institute, by a small group of volunteers including UK Fundraising’s Howard Lake. It is designed to offer fundraisers ./guidance and suggestions for best practice in the rapidly changing world of digital or new media fundraising.

At today’s sell-out new media fundraising conference organised by the Institute there was little evidence of interest: only one delegate admitted that they had read the draft.
So, assuming the volunteer group hasn’t created a perfect document, now is your chance to add your thoughts and expertise to this code. The consultation period runs until 21 October 2005.
