Venues directory listings increase

UK Fundraising’s new category of venues for fundraising events large and small and other activities continues to grow.

Finding appropriate venues for fundraising events and activities can be difficult, if the discussions on the various email and web forums for fundraisers are anything to go by. That is one reason that UK Fundraising added a specific category for venues under the events section of its suppliers directory.
Wembley, one of the first to book in the directory, says that it hosts many not-for-profit events every year, both large and small. Recent bookings have come from local and central government departments, universities, institutes, associations and religious organisations. It is currently promoting its Christmas packages, available in more than 20 meeting rooms available to accommodate groups from 6 to 600.
Imperial College London offers even more rooms, with over 200 meeting rooms, 40 lecture theatres and exhibition areas at its main South Kensington campus. These are available at evenings and weekends during term time and throughout vacation periods. It also hosts residential conferences.

As well as venue providers, UK Fundraising also lists organisations that offer a range of venues to choose from. Imago, for example, offers purpose designed conference and training facilities, together with accommodation, catering and sports and leisure facilities. Its portfolio includes the all year round, four star residential conference centre, Burleigh Court, specialist day conference centre, Holywell Park, and Loughborough Campus, offering conference facilities during the vacation period. The venues are on one site just off the M1.
