New annual fundraising day from horse charity

Howard Lake | 6 August 2005 | News

The International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH) is to hold its first annual fundraising day, Hoof it for Horses, on 1 October 2005.

The ILPH is already organising ‘Hoof It’ sponsored walks at all four of the charity’s Recovery and Rehabilitation Centres. It has also produced a fundraising pack offering suggestions for events and fundraising ideas, together with the necessary materials such as a sponsorship form, fundraising event invitation postcards, and event registration form.

ILPH has set up a microsite to promote the event, which will also function as a support facility for fundraisers in the build up to the day. Supporters can list their fundraising events on the site for others to find, download free desktop wallpapers and screensavers, and set up a fundraising webpage for their own event using Bmycharity’s service. The charity has also set up a telephone line through which volunteer fundraisers can seek advice.

The day has a mascot, a cartoon horse called Harry, who appears on the promotional material. He also appears on many of the promotional products that are now on sale, including badges, keywrings and wristbands.
