Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund grant scheme announced

English Nature and the Countryside Agency have announced that on 4 February 2005, they will be launching a new joint grant scheme called the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF) Partnership Grant Scheme.

The Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund was introduced in 2002 with the aim of addressing the environmental and social costs of aggregate extraction by delivering environmental improvements, minimising the demand for primary aggregates and reducing the local effects of aggregate extraction.
