The Association of Children’s Hospices (ACH), the umbrella body for children’s hospices in the UK, is to be the official Charity of the Year for food retailer Somerfield in 2005-6.

Together ACH and Somerfield aim to raise more than £1 million for 36 children’s hospices across the UK. Last year, Somerfield raised over £1.5 million for its charity, Muscular Dystrophy.

The selection process for Somerfield Charity of the Year ended in a staff vote which involved employees of both Somerfield and Kwik Save.
